So Long

Yes, 3 months is a long time to go without blogging. A few excuses for that...a full to the brim computer (couldn't upload any pictures), morning sickness (which lasted all day), and a camera that didn't quite survive a cycle in the washing machine (lost many pictures).

Those things have now been fixed and we are back to hopefully at least once or twice a month blogging (fingers crossed)

Counting our Blessings - our Top 5

1. Three crazy, beautiful children.
2. One healthy pregnancy.
3. Home projects. We love having a home we can improve and make our own.
4. Steady work for Jeremy. Too many people are without.
5. Kids in bed before 8. It really does happen sometimes.

Ella, Age 5!

Ella had her 5th birthday. She chose a sweetheart party (family only this year). We had fun decorating her cake together while Lincoln was at preschool and Logan was asleep. She reports her favorite presents were a ZhuZhu pet hamster and a real-but-not purple cellphone from uncle Shay.

About Ella.

She's very emotional. Her emotions range from blissfully happy to its-the-end-of-the-world sad, to utter rage. These can all be seen within minutes of each other. Make's life interesting.

Loves getting her hair cut (by me). Asks for a haircut at least once a week. I'm okay with it, but I'm ready for her to grow it out a little longer again.

Little mommy. She's the perfect second mother for Logan and I know she is going to be a huge help with #4. Not only does she like to do things like me, but she actually tries to get us to match our outfits each day as well. Unfortunately for her, this isn't possible very often. Weird that I don't have very many clothes that match a 5-year-old, I know.

Lincoln, Age 3

What is he up to?

Preschool once a week, yet asks every morning if he gets to go to preschool that day.

Sunbeams. He's the perfect sunbeam, biased, maybe, but true. He loves to sing and do what his teachers ask. He gave a beautiful opening prayer last week.

Being helpful. Whenever Jer is working on a project, Lincoln gets out his play tools so he can help hammer and build whatever it is dad is working on.

Logan, Almost 2

Logan turns 2 in March, but he thinks he's 5.

    What is he up to?

  • Refuses a sippy.
  • Refuses his crib.
  • Does everything Lincoln and Ella do.
  • Loves to play the monster and chase Ella and Lincoln all around the house without breaking a smile and with a very believable monster growl...scary.
  • Talking more and more. He is finally getting beyond only saying "What?" in a low, what-do-you-want-from-me kind of voice. I'm sad to see it go.
  • Absolutely adores Ella. If he gets hurt he requires a love from mommy and then is immediately looking for Ella for more of the same.
  • Strips down to his diaper whenever possible and that includes playdates, in the mall, while shopping, at church, etc. You name the place and if he's been there, he's tried to strip there.

Christmas in January

For the record, a very fun Christmas. And here are some pictures to prove it.
Hours and hours of candy making.

Smart family parties...including but not limited to cabin living, gingerbread houses, the true Christmas story, singing, game playing, and lots of grandpa.

Jones family parties...including but not limited to pinata, Luke 2, swaddling babies, presents, good food, and lots of cousins.

Christmas morning. We wrapped up a note that said "Mommy has a baby in her tummy" with an ultrasound picture as one of the kids presents. The kids unwrapped it and once Ella made it through reading the note they were more than a little excited for their present that would be arriving in June/July.
